PERSONAL NOTE:
"I retired from the City of Brooksville in 1998 after 25 years of service. The last 13 years I served as Fire Chief, Safety Director and Emergency Management Director, after working my way up through the ranks, beginning as a volunteer. In the position of Fire Chief I was responsible for formulating the annual budget and managing the department and its personnel. As the Safety Director I formulated the first safety manual for the City of Brooksville, and created the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. In 1995 I created the Brooksville Emergency Response Team, the first self contained, full service disaster unit in the state of Florida. Also during my tenure the department acquired the only aerial platform apparatus in Hernando County, total cost of approximately $10,000.00 to purchase, restore and re certify. This purchase directly affected the residents by lowering the insurance premiums within the city."
PAST AND PRESENT ORGANIZATIONS:
County wide Task Force on Fire Protection, Red Cross Advisory Board, The Fire Science Advisory Committee of PHCC, and served as President of the Pasco-Hernando Fire Chief's Association. Currently on the Hernando County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and an Advisory Council Member with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Also appointed Board Member of the Citrus / Hernando Waterways Restoration Council and Board Member of the Hernando County Code Review Board.
REASON FOR QUALIFYING:
I entered this election because I have watched the current commission wastefully spend our hard earned tax dollars and encroach on our personal freedoms with the frivolous ordinances they have enacted, and feel that I have the experience and the knowledge to be an asset to the residents of Hernando County. I believe in The Principles of the Republican Party, less taxes, less government and more personal freedoms and I am proud to have been a member of the party since 1972."
